Nestled among the foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountains, in
the western edge of Cuyama Valley, Alere Vineyards
produces zinfandel and rhone-varietals.

With roots firmly planted in the soils of Santa Barbara
County's northernmost reaches, the vines are nourished by
nature and tended by three generations.

At an elevation of 2,400 feet, our vineyard flourishes in a
climate very similiar to that of the southern Rhone Valley.  We
have chosen to grow mostly Rhone-varietals, along with a bit
of Zinfandel.  Because our families have a long-standing
respect for the earth, we use sustainable farming practices
to help protect the environment and native wildlife.  We
believe in caring for the land that feeds us.
In fact, our name "Alere", is derived from Latin and literally
means "to feed, nourish, increase".

Joe Haslett, our winemaker, crafts the essence
of these grapes into wines
that we hope you will enjoy.
